Megamouth Shark washed ashore on Gapang Beach

A species of the rare Megamouth Shark was washed ashore today on Gapang Beach!

Wordwide there have been only a few sightings of this shark. At a little over 1.76m, this is the smallest species yet found and it’s considered a juvenile. The shark is donated to the Indonesian Institute of Sciences and will be thoroughly researched before being displayed in the museum in Cinibong.
